Bass: Debbie |
|
Deb is the
Encore! Bass. She lives with her husband and has two grown up children. She is relatively new to Barbershop, having discovered the delights of 4 part a cappella harmony in May 2007. She is however, no stranger to performing in front of live audiences, having been a member of folk club and group. She could be spotted maxi skirted and platform shoed in the 70’s singing and strumming away on her guitar at a variety of folk venues. She has only recently got out of the habit of singing with eyes closed and a finger in her ear! She has also sung in a number of choirs and been looking for something a little bit different when she was introduced to barbershop. Deb originally qualified as State Registered Nurse in 1981 before completing a PGCE in 2002. She is a Year 6 teacher in small primary school in Purley, where she works closely with the music teacher assisting with concerts, and directing the Year 6 production. Having helped set up
Vocal Dimension Chorus with the rest of Encore! Deb is looking forward to this new and challenging stage in her life.

Bari: Emma |

Emma is the
Encore! Baritone. From Glam rock to Musicals, Choral music to a mixed voice a cappella chorus, Emma has always been singing. A Barbershop convert since 2002, she came curiously along one evening and has been a confirmed and enthusiastic Baritone ever since. Emma has been
Region 31’s Competition Coordinator for the Birmingham years and most recently the Events Coordinator on the Regional Management Team where she organised the Region’s first year in the Sage Gateshead and two highly successful Education events; 2008s Feel the Earth Move with Åse Hagerman and Alba Show Chorus, and 2009s Midsummer Buzz with The BUZZ! She is delighted to be starting a new chapter in her life (and Sweet Adelines!) with the creation of
Vocal Dimension Chorus. An avid parody writer, she has already ruined quite a few songs for the quartet! For her normal work (boo hiss!) she is a Delivery Assurance Specialist for the Project Management Office of Reed Elsevier Technology Services and when not singing (and it’s admittedly hard to stop her) she enjoys travel, wine, cookery and home life with her partner. Tenor: Emma |
|
Emma is the
Encore! Tenor and is simply obsessed with barbershop! She has been singing barbershop now for 5 years having spent most of her childhood being classically trained. She started off singing Lead in the front row of Spring Valley Chorus in the Chicagoland area (Region 3) when she was working in Chicago as an intern following graduation. As soon as she moved back to the UK, the Internet search began to find the closest Sweet Adelines chorus to London, so in early 2006 she joined an award winning chorus where she was Tenor Section Leader, Young Women in Harmony Coordinator, and was part of the Marketing Team as well as competing in two International competitions! Emma is very excited to be a founder member of
Vocal Dimension Chorus and looking forward to the journey ahead! Emma is the Competition Coordinator for
Region 31, Quartet of Nations, and having very successfully organised the 2009 convention in the Sage Gateshead, she is looking forward to what will hopefully be a repeat in 2010! Emma is a Research Manager with a global marketing agency working on a variety of international studies and in her free time she enjoys travelling, especially up to Edinburgh to see all her family.
